FN Active Coatings

We have developed, patented and manufacture special coatings trademarked FN® (FN1®, FN2® and FN3®) , that are used to create a highly active photocatalytic layer on the surface of walls, building materials, facades and roofs, wood and other materials.  We have developed a second generation of photocatalytic coatings.  The photocatalytic properties of FN® are 100 times more effective than in current first generation products based on silicate, silicon or acrylic vehicles, or on sol-gel.                

 

 

FN® is an aqueous suspension of photoactive titanium dioxide in a mixture of inorganic vehicles.  After drying, the applied coating forms a thin layer about 0.005 to 0.5 mm thick on a substrate.  This layer cleans the air, breaks down organic and inorganic substances and exhibits a self-cleaning ability.  FN® coatings allow you to turn a treated surface into a highly effective, low energy, reliable and maintenance-free air cleaner.  The cleaning process is activated by ultraviolet light (UV-A), which is a natural component of daylight.  In areas where there is insufficient daylight, artificial UV-A lighting is necessary (the optimum wavelength is 365 nm).  Among the substances that can be decomposed by photocatalysis are nitric oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), ammonia (NH3), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), the majority of chlorinated hydrocarbons, dioxins, chlorobenzene, chlorophenol, simple hydrocarbons (such as CH3OH, C2H5OH, CH3COOH, CH4, C2H6, C3H8, C2H4, C3H6), aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, phenol, toluene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene), pesticides (Tradimefon, Primicarb, Asulam, Diazinon, MPMC, atrazine), organic colorants and more.  At the same time, bacteria, viruses, yeasts, fungus and spores are eliminated on the photocatalytic surface.  The surface is also cleaned of micro-particles of dust formed from hazardous organic compounds such as benzopyrenes, and any remaining dust is washed away by rain.

EXTERIOR

Cleaning the air: One square meter of the photocatalytic surface formed by FN® is able to clean more than 60% of pollutants from a volume of three million cubic meters of air per year in urban and industrial areas (given a daily average of ten hours of sunlight and an average wind speed of 0.2 m/s)!  FN® is the only truly efficient and economical product permitting practically instant reductions in the concentration of emissions from industrial activities and automobile traffic in urban and industrial areas!

Creating a surface with self-cleaning properties – for lastingly clean facades.  The photocatalytic effect prevents staining of facades treated with FN® by grime from smoke, soot, dust, aerosol droplets of grease, attachment of algae, moss and lichens and growth of mold.

Anti-graffiti effect: surfaces to which a thick layer (0.15-0.2 mm) of FN2® suspension has been applied show a strong anti-graffiti effect.

Elimination of unpleasant odors, cigarette smoke, allergens, and other hazardous materials that threaten health and create an unpleasant environment.  Prevention of musty buildup

 on walls, windows and furniture.

Reduced risk of spread of infection – lowered concentration of pathogenic organisms and thus lower risk of spreading infection.

Lower concentration of noxious compounds and substances hazardous to health in the air of rooms.  These substances are released into the air by furniture, rugs, plastics, cleaning and disinfection agents, and also by colonies of bacteria, mold, and mites, or they may seep into buildings from the exterior environment.
